  • Olympic Games #Rio2016

The 31st edition of Olympic Games is over and our athletes, both Australians and Brazilians, put on a big show in the #Rio2016 Olympic Games.

For the last 2 weeks we could not take our eyes off of the tv.

However, let’s not forget about the environmental and social problems that were highlighted on the games’ beautiful opening ceremony:

    - Climate Change

    - current “word wide refugees crisis”.

These Games were unique. For the first time ever we had a so called “refugees Olympic team”. This team was formed by 10 Athletes that due to different personal circumstances, were not allowed to compete as part of their country of origin.

Is this  going to be the norm from now on? Well… we think so!

With so many environmental and social problems around the world, chances are that the numbers of refugees will steadily increase throughout the years!

    10-2

Climate change and its associate raising sea levels are likely to force millions of people out of their countries, especially from the small Pacific Islands. So watch this space as we lead to the Tokyo Olympiads in 2020.

We, as part of a globalised society, have an obligation to help the world to overcome these problems! We can’t just seat and wait this unfold without doing nothing. We can’t just pretend this is not our problem! These are OUR problems and we need to take action!

We are not asking you to change the world, but instead, change your habits, your lifestyle to suit a more sustainable way of life! Help on what you can. Do your bit and try to influence other people to do the same. If everyone does a little bit we are certainly capable to make a difference on this world.

We have chosen to promote and sell Dourado Jewellery products because we truly believe we are making a contribution to the environment and the people that are struggling to make a living back in Brazil.
